In late 2020, Google introduced Manifest V3 API, which is an API for extensions. The API is available on the desktop versions of Chrome. Previously, devs needed to use third-party integrations to make this work. Google is finalizing this API in version 99. ![]() This would allow developers to easily implement handwriting into their web apps. Google started experimenting with a built-in handwriting recognition API in Chrome 91. ![]()
